Volunteering opportunities
Circles of Support and Accountability Yorkshire and Humberside
This is a charitable organisation which recruits volunteers to support offenders, particularly sex offenders, when they are in the community.
Between four and six volunteers form a 'Circle' around a sex offender who then
becomes the 'Core Member'.
The 'Circle' is a support network for the Core Member. The 'Circle' holds the Core Member accountable for their actions and ongoing risk management.
They help the Core Member recognise patterns of thoughts and behaviour that could lead to reoffending. The 'Circle' has regular group meetings with the Core Member but will also have one-to-one meetings either face to face or via the telephone.
