Safer Relationships group
Safer Relationships can be included in the medium level Activity Requirement, decided at post sentence assessment. It is a community based group designed to reduce offending by male domestic violence perpetrators designed to meet the need for shorter, targeted interventions for men who may have less entrenched domestic abuse behaviours and attitudes.
Themes include for the group work include:
- where attitudes come from
- victims' perspectives on domestic abuse.
- what is abusive behaviour.
- the impact of abuse on children.
- personal change.
For those with more entrenched behaviours the Domestic Violence group is available as part of the high level Activity Requirement.
