Leeds Community Payback Projects

Female Offender Working on Unpaid Work

St George's Crypt Project

This project aims to develop work and life skills of ex homeless people to help them gain employment. When it is ready, the centre will include a commercial kitchen, food distribution department and a learning environment. We have been involved in this project from the outset, cleaning (as shown in photo) and decorating the premises.

East Leeds Project

We have won a Howard League Award for this project which is a partnership between West Yorkshire Probation, Leeds City Council and the Police. Offenders have taken part in locally nominated projects such as land clearance, litter picking, planting and leafleting.

Help the Aged

This ongoing project runs from the Help the Aged warehouse off Kirkstall Road and includes steaming, cleaning clothes and sorting of donated stock ready to be distributed to the shops.

Kirkstall allotments

In partnership with Leeds College of Building and Groundwork Trust, we are offering offenders the opportunity to gain NVQ level 1 modules in horticulture while they carry out their Community Payback hours at the allotment.

St Vincent’s Charity

This project provides work for around six workers per day five days a week. The work is in the charity’s furniture store and includes general warehouse duties.
