Wakefield is a metropolitan district. It is located by the River Calder, on the eastern edge of the Pennines, the urban area is 2,062 hectares (5,100 acres) and has a total population of 315,172.

Wakefield Probation has a budget of £2.8 million, 90% of which is spent on staff.

  • 80% of staff work directly with offenders, victims or communities
  • 20% of staff provide reception, case tracking, recording and systems support
